        FAQ

How do I set up an RX filtration system?

Install the suction and return fittings. Then attach the hoses from the fittings to the proper ports on the pump. Once everything is connected and secure, fill up the pool with water. Release any air that was trapped in the pump by turning the bent screw on the pump canister counterclockwise and leave open until water starts flowing out. After the pump has been vented you should be good to go.

How do I set up a CP filtration system?

Install the suction and return fittings. Then attach the hoses from the fittings to the proper ports on the pump. Once everything is connected and secure, fill up the pool with water. Release any air that was trapped in the pump by turning the bent screw on the pump canister counterclockwise and leave open until water starts flowing out. What is the difference between the RX and the CP filtration systems?

While both pumps operate the same, the difference is the sizes of the pumps, which changes the amount of water they can pump. The Funsicle RX systems come in 4 sizes: RX330, RX600, RX1000, and RX1500. The larger the number, the more it can handle. The CP system is our largest pump and is capable of pumping around 2000 gallons of water per hour.

What should I do if I installed the return and suction hoses on the opposite pump openings?

The hoses themselves aren’t the issue, but rather where they are connecting to the pool. Disconnect the hoses from the pool and connect them to the proper ports. Leaving them in the incorrect spots will make it harder for the pump to do its job, and may even damage it.

My pump came with a Diverter fitting. What is this used for?

The diverter fitting is used to direct the water that is coming out to the filtration system and helps with water circulation.

My RP or RX Pump is not moving water; what can I do about this?

When a pump is not moving water, it’s usually because there is a blockage, a dirty pool filter, or too much air in the system. Best thing to do is to turn off your pump to check and clean both the filter and the hoses. If you need to remove the hoses to clean them, you will need to drain your pool until the water level is low enough for you to disconnect the hoses. When you’re reassembling the system, make sure everything is tight to prevent air from getting in the system.

Why does the RX pump use two suction fittings?

This is to be compliant to USA standards.

Can I lift the RX canister above the ground?

The pump will run fine as long as it is on a flat, solid surface. However, lifting it onto something raised puts it at risk of being bumped, tipped, and eventually broken so we recommend that you place it on the ground.

What type of filter does the RX filtration system use?

The filters that our pumps use is a cartridge made out of pleated ultra fine heavy-duty paper.
